Blackwork

Heavy black, negative space and bold silhouettes built to hold their shape as skin changes. Sleeves, back pieces, and bands.

A private, one-chair tattoo studio where every design is original, every detail matters, and every piece is created with intention.

Here's some of my work so far. Select any piece to view it full size.

Three disciplines I've spent years on paper narrowing down to. If your idea sits between two of them, we build a hybrid that still reads clean in twenty years.

Heavy black, negative space and bold silhouettes built to hold their shape as skin changes. Sleeves, back pieces, and bands.

Single-needle work — delicate script, botanicals and micro detail, placed where it will stay legible rather than blur.

Black & grey portraits and photo-real detail, layered patiently across multiple sessions. Never rushed into one sitting.

It started with drawing. Then came years of digital design, learning how a line holds up on a screen. Now it's skin — and the hand and the eye behind every piece have been training for most of my life.
That's why I only work custom. Every piece starts as a conversation and a drawing made for one body, not a design pulled off a wall. I take a limited number of clients each month so nothing gets built on a deadline that isn't yours.
Most of my work lives in blackwork and fine line — heavy contrast next to quiet detail. I take on work I know I can execute cleanly, and I'm honest when a piece should wait. What I care about most is how a tattoo looks in ten years, not the day it's photographed.
From first message to the final aftercare check-in, you always know what happens next.
Thirty minutes, in studio or on video. We talk placement, scale, budget, and whether the idea actually works on skin.
Once we're a go: deposit, date, and a short health questionnaire, so anything that matters gets flagged before the day, not on it.
I draw an original piece for you and walk you through one round of revisions before anything is stencilled.
Photo ID and a signed consent form on arrival. Private room, single-use sterile equipment, vegan inks. Breaks whenever you need them.
Written aftercare, a check-in at week two, and one free touch-up within the first six months.
I brought in a half-formed idea and Daniel turned it into a full sleeve that looks like it was always meant to be there. Three sessions, zero regrets.
Very professional from the first message to the last touch-up, and the line work is unreal. Six months healed and the script is still razor sharp.
He covered a piece I'd hated for a decade — redesigned around it instead of blacking it out. Completely different feeling walking around now.
Home base is a private studio in Brentwood, CA. I also guest at shops around the East Bay through the year, so if you're closer to Antioch, Oakley, Concord, Walnut Creek or Livermore, ask what's coming up. Your booking confirmation always names the exact address.
$100 studio minimum. Larger custom work is quoted flat after your consultation, so you know the number before we begin.
Yes — $150, non-refundable, applied to your final session. It covers drawing time and holds your date. Reschedule with 72 hours' notice and it carries over to the new date.
No. The studio is custom-only and by appointment. A few small-piece slots open most months — those are announced on Instagram first.
It depends on placement. Ribs, sternum and inner arm are the hardest; outer arm and thigh are the easiest. We break as often as you need — nobody's grading you.
Bring references, sketches, anything at all. I won't copy another artist's tattoo one-to-one, but I'll build something in that direction that belongs to you.
Two things. After your deposit you'll get a short health questionnaire — medications, skin conditions, allergies — so I can plan around anything before your session. On the day, you'll show a valid photo ID and sign a consent form in the studio. Both stay private and on file, as California requires.
18+ with a valid government photo ID, no exceptions. I also don't tattoo anyone under the influence of alcohol.
